Ashen Spiral

While you stand in fire and for 3 s after you step out, your skill area is 30% larger.

Play

Found only from the Cindercoil, on a tier 10+ key.

The power

While you stand in fire and for 3 s after you step out, your skill area is 30% larger. It works for whichever hero wears it, with any build. The codex marks it build-changing, by the same rule as every other unique: its power turns a hit, a cast or a step into a new effect a build is played around.

Stats

It comes at item level 30 plus the tier of the key spent on the Cindercoil, so at item level 40 at the least. A unique’s lines stop growing at item level 36, so every copy rolls the top ranges below whatever the tier; only its base’s implicit (42–45 damage at item level 40) keeps rising with the item level.

How to get it

No floor, Fissure or other boss drops it. At the Obelisk in town, a key of tier 10 or more can be spent on the Cindercoil instead of a Fissure (how the Deep Three fight). A kill always pays one Cinder heart and 3 rares; each of the 3 has a 10% chance of being Ashen Spiral instead, so a kill brings at least one about 27% of the time. Its partner from the same boss is Coilbrand.

Bad luck has a floor: on the Smith’s Melt tab 5 Cinder hearts buy it outright (item level 30 plus your best cleared tier), so 5 kills always get it, and 1 Cinder heart rerolls the stat lines of one you own. Hearts of the other two bosses do not count. It goes to the shared stash, so any hero can wear it, and the Codex counts it among every unique you can find.
