DANKLOOT
In dankloot you mow down hordes, grab loot, and decide every floor whether to go deeper or get out alive.
Free, runs in the browser, in development. How to play: every rule on one page. The codex: every monster, boss, skill and unique, with the game’s numbers. What’s new: every change you can play, by day.
The game in a minute
-
Floor 1, the Camp Road: the gold arrow names the next zone. The dive
Steer with one thumb, or WASD on a keyboard, while your hero fights on his own and his skills aim themselves at the thickest crowd. 30 floors run through 6 lands from a road in daylight down to the Black Glass, with a boss at the bottom of each and one gold arrow always pointing the way on.
-
Floor 5: the Bellwright drops a unique helm, and its pink beam goes up. The loot
Monsters drop gear for 10 slots: 36 item bases in 5 rarities, 7 item sets and 54 uniques whose powers bend a skill or a rule. What you carry is at risk until you tap Town Portal, on any floor and even mid-fight, which banks it all for free; fall first and it is lost, all but 75 % of the gold.
-
The camp: Stash, Smith, Melt and the Waypoint down. The town
Between dives you walk the camp: the stash keeps what you banked, the smith upgrades, rerolls and melts your gear, and the skill tree takes the point each level brings. A gold arrow beside your hero points at the one place worth a visit next.
-
The Mage, floor 4: every spell casts itself. The heroes
Pick from 4 heroes, the Warrior, the Mage, the Bonecaller and the Mender, and keep up to 12 of them by name, each with his own gear and skill tree. Between them they have 55 skills, up to six carried at once, and a skill at rank 5 with its matching passive evolves into a stronger one.
-
The Mender’s golden ring heals every hero inside it. Playing together
Send an invite link, tap another player’s hero in the shared town, or join a public game from the town’s Notice board: up to five heroes share one dive, and each of you picks up only your own drops. There is no account and no text chat, just four pings, and it needs a live connection.
-
The Obelisk: your Fissure keys, Omens and Depth marks. After floor 30
Beat the Vitrarch on floor 30 and the Obelisk in town opens Fissures, timed runs whose key climbs a tier each time you clear one inside 10 minutes. Keys of tier 10, 20 and 30 open three harder bosses instead, each with two uniques of its own.
Every rule, number and screen is on how to play; the codex lists every monster, boss, skill and unique item with its numbers.
