Furnace Breath
A short cone of fire at the nearest foe sets the whole front rank burning. It aims itself at the nearest elite in range, or the nearest monster when there is no elite. Every foe it hits takes 2 burn stacks: a burning foe takes the stacks times the burn’s damage a tick every 0.5 s, credited to you. Stacks last 3 s from the latest hit, 3 at most.
A level-up offers it as one of three cards.
Rank by rank
A level-up card offers a skill you do not have while one of your 6 slots is free, or the next rank of one you have, up to rank 5. These are the lines the card shows:
- Rank 1: 18 damage in a 60° cone 3 tiles long, 2 burn stacks (2 a tick) · 5.0 s cooldown (3 s with Quick Hands at rank 5)
- Rank 2: 22 damage in a 60° cone 3.2 tiles long, 2 burn stacks (3 a tick) · 4.7 s cooldown (2.82 s with Quick Hands at rank 5)
- Rank 3: 27 damage in a 60° cone 3.4 tiles long, 2 burn stacks (3 a tick) · 4.4 s cooldown (2.63 s with Quick Hands at rank 5)
- Rank 4: 33 damage in a 60° cone 3.6 tiles long, 2 burn stacks (4 a tick) · 4.1 s cooldown (2.47 s with Quick Hands at rank 5)
- Rank 5: 40 damage in a 60° cone 3.9 tiles long, 2 burn stacks (5 a tick) · 3.8 s cooldown (2.28 s with Quick Hands at rank 5)
| Rank | Cooldown (s) | Damage | Length (tiles) | Burn a tick |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 18 | 3 | 2 |
| 2 | 4.7 | 22 | 3.2 | 3 |
| 3 | 4.4 | 27 | 3.4 | 3 |
| 4 | 4.1 | 33 | 3.6 | 4 |
| 5 | 3.8 | 40 | 3.9 | 5 |
At every rank: Range 4 tiles.
Evolution: Bellows Blaze
Rank 5 + Heavy Hand → Bellows Blaze. Hold Furnace Breath at rank 5 and any rank of Heavy Hand, and the next level-up’s first card is the evolution, drawn in gold. A longer, wider gout of fire that leaves the front rank burning harder.

Heavy Hand is also the key to Kindled Halo, so one passive can open two evolutions.
