Inscription · 2 runes · for the Mage
Rimecount
Every 4th spell you cast is cast twice, the second time at once.
All 2 runes can drop from floor 10 down.
The runes, in order
Brine → Quill, in sockets 1 to 2 of one item with exactly 2 sockets: a normal or magic weapon, off-hand, helm, chest, gloves and boots. The deepest of them, Quill, first drops on floor 10.
The power
Every 4th spell you cast is cast twice, the second time at once. One cast in 4 comes twice, so over a fight you cast 25% more spells for the same cooldowns. It works for the Mage; any other hero wearing the item gets the runes’ stats and nothing more.
- Cut into a weapon, the runes add
- -7% cooldowns
- Cut into other gear
- +3% skill area, +5% move speed
- Smith’s price to empty every socket
- 90 gold
An inscription is cut when an item has exactly as many sockets as the inscription has runes, every socket filled, in the inscription’s order. A 3-socket chest with Brine and Quill in its first two sockets spells nothing: the count must match too. The inscription’s power works only for the hero it is cut for; on anyone else the item keeps its rune stats and the power sleeps. Emptying one socket breaks the inscription at once, and the rune in it is destroyed, so set the runes in order and only into the item you mean to keep.
