The Wick rune, the first of Cinderwake.

Cinderwake

A burning monster that dies passes its burn to the nearest monster within 3 tiles, at full length.

Play

All 3 runes can drop from floor 5 down.

The runes, in order

Wick → Soot → Flint, in sockets 1 to 3 of one item with exactly 3 sockets: a normal or magic weapon, off-hand and chest. The deepest of them, Flint, first drops on floor 5.

The power

A burning monster that dies passes its burn to the nearest monster within 3 tiles, at full length. It works for the Mage; any other hero wearing the item gets the runes’ stats and nothing more.

Cut into a weapon, the runes add
+11% damage, +3% swing speed
Cut into other gear
+12 life, +2% move speed, +12% knockback
Smith’s price to empty every socket
105 gold

An inscription is cut when an item has exactly as many sockets as the inscription has runes, every socket filled, in the inscription’s order. A 3-socket chest with Brine and Quill in its first two sockets spells nothing: the count must match too. The inscription’s power works only for the hero it is cut for; on anyone else the item keeps its rune stats and the power sleeps. Emptying one socket breaks the inscription at once, and the rune in it is destroyed, so set the runes in order and only into the item you mean to keep.
