How it fights

The sinkfang strikes from under the floor. When you are between 1.4 and 7 tiles away it sinks out of sight and nothing can hit it. An ember mark then grows on the ground under your feet and follows you for 0.8 s at 3.6 tiles a second, slower than you walk; for the last 0.4 s it holds still at full size and glows brighter. 1.2 s after it sank, the sinkfang bursts up on the mark and bites every hero within 1.24 tiles of its centre for 84 on floor 31. Walking is enough to beat it: a hero needs 0.3 s to clear the mark, and it gives 0.4 s of still mark to do it in. Standing still to swing at a pack is how it lands. It rests 3.5 s on the surface before it can sink again. At most 3 are alive at once.

Floor by floor

The same sinkfang gets tougher each floor: the floor multiplies its HP, bite and speed. An elite sinkfang has 3× the HP, gives 5× the XP and always drops at least a magic item plus 5 coins. “Share of waves” is the part of the floor’s wave monsters that roll as a sinkfang.

* Floors past 30 are not written out in the game’s tables: their numbers are the engine’s own extrapolation from floor 30. HP and bite keep the growth every floor from 6 has: ×1.065 HP and ×1.045 bite a floor, compounding.
