How it fights

The dregmaw feeds on the fallen. When any other monster (not a boss) dies within 3 tiles of it, it stops and drags the body into its maw: an ash-grey line is drawn from where the body fell to its mouth and the body slides along it for 0.67 s. When the body is in, the dregmaw heals 25% of its life and grows 10% bigger, and its bite grows with it. It can feed 3 times, so a full-grown one is 1.33× its size and bite (27 on floor 26 instead of 20). Killing it during the drag stops the meal. The answer is to kill it before the pack around it, or to pull the fight more than 3 tiles away from it: a Warrior who mows down twenty husks next to one is feeding it. It is the fastest of its band (1.3 tiles a second base) and low to the ground. At most 4 are alive at once.

Floor by floor

The same dregmaw gets tougher each floor: the floor multiplies its HP, bite and speed. An elite dregmaw has 3× the HP, gives 5× the XP and always drops at least a magic item plus 5 coins. “Share of waves” is the part of the floor’s wave monsters that roll as a dregmaw.
